SAINT PAUL VULCANS

A Family Friendly Organization

The Past Vulcan Krewes

.A Big Welcome to the 2026 new Vulcan Krewe. The selected recruits will join their Krewe for what will no doubt be a memorable year. It all starts with the 10 days of Winter Carnival, where the Krewe is sequestered together the entire time. Each member has an assigned running mate they will stick with the entire year. Since 1886, the Saint Paul Winter Carnival has brought family-friendly events and community pride to our fair Realm. The red-caped Krewe, power forward to embody the energy and disruption that springtime brings to the final days of winter. Our pledge to you is, “By the great sword of Mars, We will temper the blustering cold winds of Boreas with the heat and firery roar of all our forces – HAIL THE VULC.”

Our Organization interacts with many neighborhoods, many cities, and many amazing parades and events. We all share a common goal and vision to be kind to those around us and spread that joy we have into the neighborhoods around us. As a large group of members we are pround to be part of such wonderful and respectful families and friends in our community. Special Words for our past, present, and future…

Fire Eternal,

We gather tonight as keepers of flame and fellowship— bound not only by soot and story, but by loyalty, laughter, and love of this ancient brotherhood. We give thanks for this table, for good food and strong drink, for stories retold and new mischief yet to be imagined, and for the enduring fire that draws us back together, conclave after conclave. Tonight, we pause to remember those who stood among us at the last gathering but whose chairs now stand empty. Brothers and friends whose laughter once warmed these halls, whose hands helped tend the flame, and whose presence shaped the Vulcan Spirit we carry forward. May their memory be held gently, their names spoken with gratitude, and their fire never truly extinguished— living on in our stories, our service, and our shared mischief. Grant us joy this day, wisdom in our fellowship, and respect for one another, for the traditions we guard, and for the fire entrusted to us. May kindness reign, rules be respected, and may the flame burn bright—but never reckless.

Amen. Beautiful words from a past Vulcan King.

Feathered Caps of the Past to the Amazing Krewes of Today. Thank You 2025 Vulcans for Your Service!

The past year has brought our mission to full circle. We hit the streets hard and met the people. From all the parades, events, trips, and festivals we have performed to the crowds the the legend.

To the members who laid our foundation and to those who have joined us along the way, we write to you with pride, purpose, and a renewed call to unity. Fire and Brimstone has always stood for more than fellowship alone. Our traditions, our presence, and our unmistakable red coats have long symbolized the history, strength, and brotherhood that bind us together. As we welcome and celebrate the rise of a new Krewe, we have a unique opportunity to honor where we came from, while showing in a powerful and visible way, who we are. We ask all members—new and old alike—to turn out and stand together by donning our red coats.

Let us make a visual impact that reflects our shared legacy, our commitment to tradition, andthe enduring bond of brotherhood that defines Fire and Brimstone. A united presence sends a clear message: our history matters, our members matter, and our fraternity remains strong. These yearly gatherings mark important moments for our new Krewe and our organization to grow while providing a perfect opportunity for Fire and Brimstone to be seen in full force, united and proud in Red and Black! These moments are about more than attire. They are about respect for those who came before us, pride in the organization we represent, and support for the future we continue to build together. Stand proud. Wear the red coat. Let Fire and Brimstone be seen, remembered, and celebrated.

HEATH AUBIN – Grand Duke Fertilious 08. My goodness how quickly a year goes by! You all know how we feel. Blink and it might just be over. The 2025 Krewe has completed our whirlwind running year and boy, what a year it was. First, we want to give a special thank you to the 2024 Krewe for kicking our year off as well as tremendous Mother Hen’s, who put in much time and effort to take care of us. You guys are awesome! A special thanks to President Jim Tvedt, my Fire King Advisors, Mark Salmen, Paul Knudsen, Dan Leach, Dave Breen, and Fred Edstrom for putting up with all of the “please approve this or that” emails during the year. And thanks to all those who hosted us throughout the year. We were overwhelmed by your hospitality and kindness.

The Prince of Soot

STEVE HENNINGER – I have been a lifelong resident of St Paul
except for a few years in Cloquet, and California. I was raised
on St Paul’s Rockin’ Eastside and graduated from Hill-Murray.
I graduated from the culinary arts program at St Paul TVI and
have spent the last 45 years working everything from
dishwasher to Executive Chef in kitchens ranging from Sports
Bars to Senior Living. I work for Regions hospital at an offsite
facility called Afton Place. I spend my down time with my 8
grandchildren or running the largest volunteer-run comic
book convention in the Midwest, The MN Comic Book
Association, and our 2 annual conventions at the Fairgrounds.

Duke of Klinker

BOB WINTER – Born in St. Paul and grew up in Eagan.
I graduated from Park High School, then got my AA in
computers and communications from Brown Institute.
I worked in the semiconductor industry, manufacturing
computer chips, working with robotics and automation
systems. Now, I work part-time as a driver for Enterprise. In
2021, I married my high school crush, Tami, having known
each other for almost 40 years. We live in the East Side and
have three dogs and a cat. We enjoy traveling and I’m active in
the Jaguar Car Club of MN. Being a Vulcan has always been a
dream of mine. Putting smiles on people’s faces is the reason
I love what we do.

KEVIN WOGAN – Born in Alexandria. After graduation I joined
the Air Force and was a B-52 Crew Chief. I later met my wife,
moved to Eagan, and stayed on with the Air Force Reserves as
a C-130 Crew Chief. I worked for two Chevy dealerships over
25 years, and now I work for the F.B.I. as a lead
automotive technician. My wife, Dawn, and I have been
married over 30 years and have 2 adult children. We have a
cabin on Lake Osakis. I previously volunteered as a soccer and
girls softball coach, and a Boy Scout leader. My wife
introduced me to Carnival. As a Vulcan, I love seeing the
smiles on people of all ages, and truly feel like a superhero
with the red cape on.

Grand Duke Fertilious

MARK SINGER – I work for Kolbe Windows and own a
window-consulting company, Singer & Sons Services. We
specialize in hail damage assessments. I have 3 children and 2
step-children (4 boys, 1 daughter). Over the years, I coached

I stay active playing hockey, golf, bowling, snow skiing, and
giving back to the community. Las Vegas is my favorite travel
destination, and I’m a proud MN Wild season ticket holder. My
wife joked that I “lived the life of a Vulcan” long before
becoming one. I bring passion, expertise, and a strong sense
of community to everything I do.

Past Vulcan Krewes

in 1886 Colonel Delos A. Monfort was our first Fire King Coal. Our first Vulcanus Rex Winter Carnival king was in 1916 and from that day forth we have put a Krewe on the street ever since. That’s a century of delivering the legend.

Our Dedicated Organization

As one of the oldest organizations in the country we have strived from day one to bring joy to those around us. To make our neighborhoods safe and offer surrounding communities a Winter Carnival story and legend where they can enjoy the wonderful seasons, St. Paul, Minnesota has to offer. We have been around for a century and we promise to continue our quest to perfom each year as your carnival embassadors in red. “Hail the Vulk.”
